Where am I?

This tumblelog is a noisy stream of consciousness from Anthony Bailey. (And not Amazon.)

Chrome should adopt the Monkey

The huge library of add-ons is one large advantage that Firefox currently retains against new player Chrome. Of course in the fullness of time we’ll see some Chrome-specific add-on machinery, and perhaps it will even avoid reinventing every wheel, making life a little easier for we hamsters that try to run within them - but my understanding is that this kind of proper extension framework is not sufficiently near the top of the Chrome team’s list.

I think the cheap win would be to bake support for GreaseMonkey into Chrome. There are already some attempts at GreaseMonkey to Chrome bookmarklet converters, but native support in the Chrome browser would be the way to go, I think. (Please consider my LazyWeb dollars for this quarter spent.)
